Lüllemäe cultural collective "Meie memmed" celebrated its 20th anniversary

On Saturday, 11 October, a jubilee party was held at the Lüllemäe Cultural Centre - the memmede dance group celebrated their twentieth year together.

Over the years, the group has had three tutors. The first of these was Helle Rimm, who now watches the activities of the youngsters from the clouds. The second instructor was Heidi Kõvask, who was always kind to the women who loved to dance. Nowadays, the energetic Elin Lihten leads the energetic women.

Over the years, the group has danced with as many as 25 women. From the original line-up, two ladies, Silva and Tiiu, continue to line up. There are currently eight women in the group, so new members are very welcome to join this happy bunch.

Lüllemäe memes value getting out of the house and good relationships. Lüllemäe's cultural manager Ene Kaas says the ladies even put their hairstyles on for get-togethers, so important is the time they spend together and the dance rehearsal they share, often complemented by topical discussions and celebrations of their fellow members' anniversaries.

On the day of the celebration, a lot of friends came to congratulate the memmes from Hargl, Valga, Sangaste, Karula Women's Association and elsewhere. Former dancers were also present and together they even danced together. The Mayor of Valga Municipality, Monika Rogenbaum, sent her best wishes.

We wish the energetic and fun-loving ladies continued good health and the joy of movement and music!
