Valga Municipality is looking for a dedicated and caring child protection specialist to join its team, whose task is to protect children's rights and ensure their well-being in cooperation with families and other specialists. The role of the specialist is to identify and prevent problems related to children and provide support in difficult situations.
Main tasks:
counselling and support for children and families;
case-based work in assessing and intervening in children's needs;
coordinating support and social services where necessary;
submitting submissions to the court and preparing other necessary documents, representation in court;
cooperation with representatives of the education, social, health and justice systems.
Expectations of the candidate:
Higher education in social work, social policy, education or psychology (or equivalent qualification);
willingness to obtain a qualification as a social worker specialising in child protection within two years of starting work;
knowledge of social and child protection legislation;
proficiency in Estonian;
Russian language skills at communication level;
good listening, communication and self-expression skills;
commitment, empathy, conscientiousness and correctness;
cooperation and motivation;
Category B driving licence.
The advantage is:
previous experience in child protection or social work;
ability to use computer programmes, including STAR and Amphora.
