It's a story of a wonderful childhood, just the kind we all want for our children.
A warm and safe world for children in the village of Bullerby. It's idyllic and happy, full of warmth, joy and mutual respect. There are only three farms in the small village. The Nordic farm, where Britta and Anna live. The second farm, where Liisa, the narrator of the story, lives with her brothers Lasse and Bosse. And the South Farm, where Olle lives and gets a little sister, Kerstin.
The children play happily and amicably with each other all the time, as long as it's exciting.
