Valga Municipality has allocated a total of 19 800 euros for the renovation of external facades in the Valga city centre area in the spring 2025 call for applications. Five houses received renovation grants.
Grants were awarded for:
Valga Jaani Church;
Sepa tn 2, Valga;
Vabaduse 27, Valga;
Kesk 6, Valga;
Riia tn 2, Valga.
The grant was used to carry out a range of restoration and renovation work, which has resulted in the buildings on the former heritage site looking nice.
„The renovation of buildings is not only a win for the owners, but for the city as a whole - every renovated façade creates a cosier and more beautiful living environment and increases the value of Valga's historic urban space. Many thanks to the Valga Municipal Council for supporting the municipality's proposal to adopt the façade subsidy scheme,“ said Monika Rogenbaum, Mayor of Valga Municipality.
The supported projects set an example of how improving the quality of the streetscape can start with a conscious decision by each owner to maintain, renovate and enhance their building. Renovating buildings not only improves the cityscape, but also makes everyday life more pleasant for residents and visitors alike.
